Q. What is EnVision®
A. EnVision® is a Digitized Soil Type (GLOBAL POSITIONED) Seed Placement System that uses seed/soil characteristics from the NRCS SSurgo Data and the NON SSURGO data that is digitized available throughout the US.
Q. Where is EnVision® available for use?
A. EnVision® has the capability to be used wherever Digitized County soil maps exits. (SSurgo and NRCS Digitized Data) However, Seed Company participation is the KEY COMPONENT in making EnVision® Work!
Q. What SEED COMPANIES are participating with EnVision®?
A. Participating seed companies include Croplan Genetics® and Mycogen®. NK Brand® offers the program in select areas. (call for details!) More seed companies are expected to be added in the future!
Q. Who can purchase and use EnVision® ?
A. Anyone that is an Authorized Croplan Genetics® Seed Dealer at this present time. Pending some minor details, the other above mentioned seed companies as well.
Q. I do not sell any of the brands listed. I am a seed dealer, can I still get information on EnVision®?
A. Absolutely! Just Contact us and supply us with some information and we'll get back in touch with you.
Q. I Expect that many of our farm maps will be 100% GREEN (Non-Problematic soils). Is there still a value for EnVision® in this situation?
A. Definitely! This is great news for the grower and a tremendous opportunity for you to add value for your knowledge. As that field has no/few major yield limiting characteristics, you can use your training and talents to focus on controllable items. Focus on management such as choosing highest yielding seed, pH, Fertility, population, disease control, etc.
Q. The BENEFITS page on this site mentions EnVision® as a new revenue source. Please elaborate!
A. We expect you to add a margin for this valuable service. Our two years of experience suggests most farmers readily sense value and are willing to pay for this service. For suggestions on marketing and margin matrixes, go to Pricing! (Click Here!)
Q. The Pricing page mentions that EnVision® is priced PER ACRE. Please elaborate.
A. The Per-Acre fee allows you to revisit that same field as often as you wish during the licensed year with no additional charges. You may decide to revisit a field if your customer wants to discuss nitrogen management; zone soil testing; explore his soils' characteristics; refine his original seed order, etc.
Q. The Benefits page refers to seed company information is always current. Please elaborate.

This is a valuable service. Seed companies
can change their lineup if a new hybrid or variety is introduced after their
catalog is printed. They can delete a hybrid or variety if the seed
production is lost or not up to quality standards. They can also change
the recommended positioning or population recommendation as they evaluate new
research results.
When you log on EnVision® you will be notified that there was a change and
what changes were made. You can call this A
LIVE SEED GUIDE! If there was a dramatic change in positioning of a
product, this gives you an opportunity to revisit original seed orders and add
value for that knowledge.
Q. is EnVision® Sustainable? Why would a grower pay for the same service year after year?
A. Unless the grower either adds tile, changes tillage practices, creates terraces, or introduces contour planting on sloping soils, his farm maps will not change. What does change, and changes often, are his seed choices and their positioning recommendations. It is our experience that most repeat EnVision® Customers would not consider ordering seed without going through the EnVision® process again. Also, with planned upgrades, we will offer more benefits in the future!
Q. I'm analytical. Prove that EnVision® works.
A. EnVision® relies on seed company input. Their years of research on any particular hybrid or variety should give them insight on positioning their products. They may have to give an "educated guess" in some particular instances-where their research data might be limited. At the least, EnVision® should prevent those "train wrecks" that occur when a product is positioned where the seed companies know it doesn't belong. Also, as EnVision® is integrated into their research protocol their recommendations and the scope of their recommendations should improve.
Q. I represent a seed company. What is the process for positioning a line-up in EnVision®?
A. An authorized seed representative creates a geographical area, creates a group of seed choices, answers category placement scenarios, (for hybrids) and enters recommended harvest populations where prompted. Please Contact us with your interest in joining EnVision®. We have a seed placement software program online that helps Seed Companies enter their seed information!
Q. I represent a seed company. Is our information secure?
A. Your company submits a list of authorized people. They are issued usernames and passwords. They are the only people allowed access to your SECURE SITE. A log entry is made every time the site is accessed. That log includes who accessed the site and what data was entered or changed.
Q. Are there any guarantees?
A. There can be no guarantee. We are dealing with nature. As with other improvements a grower makes in crop management, they can increase their odds of success and likewise decrease the odds of the big "Train Wreck".
Q. What steps take place after I signup?
A. The following steps will take place after you signup.

SST™ will mail the number of SST Summit™ and/or SST Summit™Plus software ordered.

SST™ will e-mail each designated user their username and password to access EnVision® from the SST FarmRite® Network.

Your company will be invoiced for SST™Platforms through New Vision Coop. Payment requested upon receipt.

SST™ will immediately access available NRCS digitized county soils data for the counties you request. Expect that debugging and enhancing this information will take time!

SST™will customize maps to your company logo. Please submit them as either jpeg or bitmap to psanders@sstdevgroup.com

A tutorial CD is being developed about EnVision® seed/soil category seed placement and will be mailed from New Vision Coop.

Either area group training or individual training sessions will be offered (depending on signup in your area). These sessions will typically include both EnVision® and SST™representatives and will offer training on both SST Summit™, SST Summit™Plus and EnVision®.
